Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged/worn parts on a variety of utility trucks and equipment such as bucket trucks, diggers and hydraulic systems.

Job Summary:

The Project Assistant supports Project Managers by performing essential administrative, coordination, and tracking tasks to help ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget. This role plays a key part in maintaining organized documentation, monitoring labor and material use, tracking progress, and supporting daily communication between the project team and subcontractors.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1.      Administrative Support

Maintain and organize job contract documents, large material purchase logs, and uninstalled material quantity logs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Administrative Support

Job Description

Administrative Assistant:

The Administrative Assistant will oversee and streamline the administrative functions of our office. This role demands a detail-oriented individual with exceptional organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities.

Administrative Assistant Responsibilities:

Administrative:

  • Answer phones professionally, and route calls efficiently, screening when necessary
  • Welcome and direct visitors and customers
  • Manage office supplies and inventory, including timely reordering and organization
  • Perform or facilitate maintenance of all office equipment including cleaning, maintenance, and repairs
  • Enter purchase orders and organize quotes and order acknowledgements to record keeping system in shared electronic folders.
  • Ensure packing lists and shipping documents are correctly matched with their purchase order and forward to Accounting daily.
  • Follow up with vendors on requests for material certifications
  • Order and coordinate with IT for new IT equipment, as well as communicating with IT on related issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Team Support:

  • Provide administrative support to Staff, including Project Managers and the management team.

Administrative Assistant Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Midwestern Electric is seeking a Project Manager to become a member of our Estimating/Project Management department at our Indianapolis location. We currently specialize in highway lighting, ITS system installation and maintenance, temporary and permanent traffic signals and high voltage electrical work.

Primary Responsibilities
• Procure work and develop clientele.
• Manage project development from initiation to closure.
• Be accountable for project results.
• Resolve any issues and solve problems throughout project life cycle.
• Effectively manage project scope by ensuring any changes to scope are documented and approved with change order forms.
• Lead, coach and motivate project team members on a proactive basis.
• Work with other disciplines within the company to share information and collaborate on combined estimates to ensure all work is captured and properly estimated.

Job Description

Position Summary:

The Utility Locate Administrator supports electrical construction operations by managing the end-to-end process of underground utility locates. This role ensures that excavation and installation work is performed safely and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations by coordinating 811 locate requests, maintaining accurate documentation, and serving as a point of contact between field crews, project managers, and utility companies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Submit and manage 811 locate tickets for all electrical construction projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.

·         Track and monitor the status of locate requests to ensure all utilities are marked before ground is broken.

·         Coordinate with third-party utility locators, internal crews, and subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate marking of underground electrical and other utilities.

·         Review and interpret utility maps, site drawings, and as-builts to verify underground conditions prior to construction activities.

·         Maintain organized records of all locate tickets, responses, and confirmations in line with company documentation standards.

·         Communicate clearly with field personnel to relay locate information, scheduling updates, and potential conflicts.

·         Investigate discrepancies or utility conflicts and work with appropriate parties to resolve issues before construction begins.

·         Support field safety efforts by promoting damage prevention best practices and ensuring accurate documentation of any incidents or near misses.

·         Generate weekly/monthly reports on locate ticket volumes, response times, and unresolved issues for project management and compliance tracking.

 

Qualifications:

·         High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or technical training preferred.

·         Ability to read and understand utility prints, electrical schematics, and civil site plans.

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with GIS, ticket management systems, or construction project software is a plus.

·         Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.

·         Office-based with frequent communication with field teams.

·         Fast-paced environment with multiple projects running concurrently.
